Hi PHDtv fans!
We're glad you're as excited as we are about taking an inside look at academia. PhDs come in all shapes and sizes - and from all over the globe! This year I traveled to Hawai'i, Comic Con, and London to speak to PhD students and learn about the work that they do.
Here is a little "sneak peak" video, shot on my travels to London. You may recognize the lyrics - they were the inspiration behind our #lesreallymis project. As you can see, here at Ph.Detours, we like to have fun. Sometimes the best work (scientific or otherwise) happens when you relax (i.e. procrastinate!). So take some time to "relax" and send your own Les (really) Misérables lyrics to us by posting them on our Facebook page or tweet them @phdcomics #lesreallymis. This video isn't one of my finest moments, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!
Yours in research,
Alex
Alex, Jorge and the gang travel around the world to talk to real grad students and young scholars about the work they do and why they do it.
From hiking out in lava fields to ethnographic studies of tap dancers, Ph.Detours gives you an inside look at the environments and the people who are doing some of the most interesting research today.
